Sun Chlorella Corporation is a Japanese health food company specializing in the production and distribution of chlorella-based supplements, skincare, and wellness products. Founded in 1969 by Hideo Nakayama, the company is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, and is currently led by President and CEO Futoshi Nakayama. It remains an active, family-owned private entity.
The company is known for its proprietary cell wall pulverization technology, which enhances the digestibility of chlorella. Its core products include Sun Chlorella A, Sun Eleuthero, and Sun Chlorella Agaricus. Recent developments include the 2023 launch of Sun Neuro, containing plasmalogen, and the renewal of its Megami product to Astarella.
