Star Lake Bioscience (600866.SH) is a high-tech manufacturer specializing in bio-fermentation and chemical synthesis, serving as the primary biotechnology and food-sector platform for the state-owned Guangdong Guangxin Holdings Group. Founded in 1964 as an agricultural microbiology plant, it was incorporated in 1992 and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 1994.

The company produces animal nutrition (lysine, threonine, valine), food additives (MSG, nucleotides/I+G), and pharmaceutical intermediates (inosine, ribavirin). It operates production bases in Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Xinjiang, and Guangdong.

As of 2025, the company remains active and is pursuing a “two-three-one” strategy, focusing on animal nutrition and food seasoning while expanding into biopharmaceuticals, human nutrition, and plant nutrition.
