Sime Darby Plantation Berhad (SDP) is Malaysia-based, integrated upstream-to-downstream palm oil group involved in oil palm cultivation and milling (CPO/PK), downstream oils and fats, oleochemicals, palm oil-based biodiesel, nutraceuticals and other palm derivatives, plus renewables/agri-business. It works with palm oil biotechnology and R&D including oil palm genome sequencing completed in 2009 and GenomeSelect™ higher-yielding seedlings; it also uses mechanisation/automation/digitalisation (e.g., Geo-AI for ganoderma detection). Incorporated 2 Apr 2004; formed after 2007 merger of Guthrie, Golden Hope Plantations and Sime Darby; headquarters/registered office: SD Guthrie Tower, 47301 Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
