Nissan Chemical Corporation is a Japanese chemical company founded in 1887 as the country’s first chemical fertilizer manufacturer. Headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, it is a publicly traded entity listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (Code: 4021). As of March 2026, the company employs 3,411 people on a consolidated basis and reported annual consolidated sales of 279.6 billion yen with an operating profit of 63.6 billion yen.
The company operates across six segments: Chemicals, Performance Materials, Agricultural Chemicals, Healthcare, Trading, and Others. Its core business relies on five fundamental technologies: ultrafine particle control, functional polymer design, biological evaluation, fine organic synthesis, and optical control. Key products include semiconductor materials (e.g., bottom anti-reflective coatings), display materials, agrochemicals (e.g., Roundup, Gracia, and Verdad), and veterinary pharmaceuticals like Fluralaner.
Nissan Chemical remains active and is currently executing the second stage of its Vista2027 medium-term management plan (FY2025–FY2027). Strategic priorities include expanding semiconductor material capacity, developing new agrochemical products such as the upcoming RYZONIC herbicide, and investing in biological pesticides and hydrogen energy materials.
