Morinaga Milk Industry Co., Ltd. manufactures and sells milk, dairy products, ice cream, beverages, and other foods, and also provides functional ingredients (including bifidobacteria and lactoferrin) and probiotics-related offerings for both domestic and global customers. Core technologies/products include bifidobacteria-based health ingredients and infant-formula/probiotic applications, with named products such as PURESTER and LAC-Shield®. Founded September 1, 1917; headquartered at 5-2 Higashishimbashi 1-chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market (code 2264). Ownership: major shareholders include The Master Trust Bank of Japan and custody/trust banks (13.81%, 7.62%, etc.) plus Morinaga & Co. and employee shareholding (approx. 1.70% and 2.74%). Latest 2025-2026 developments: Medium-term plan 2025–2028 focuses on yogurt/ice cream, bifidobacteria (reorganized global probiotics sales with a headquarters structure from Apr. 2025), and overseas formula milk; structural reforms include establishing a Marketing Division and Functional Food Ingredients Division and creating a Biotics Institute; and buybacks were conducted during FYE Mar. 2026, with dividends targeted at a higher payout ratio (40%).
