Insectta (Singapore) develops patented technology to extract multiple high-value biomaterials from black soldier fly (BSF) insects, turning cocoon shells and related streams into chitosan and water-soluble melanin with traceability and low heavy-metal risk. Core products are insect chitosan (antimicrobial, moisturizing, anti-inflammatory) and 100% water-soluble melanin for biomedical and organic electronics uses; the single-process method also recaptures byproducts to reduce waste and treatment costs.
