简介
Fermbox Bio is an active Bengaluru-based synthetic biology and precision fermentation company founded in 2022 by Subramani Ramachandrappa and Preeti Dharmagoudar. It operates as a biofoundry, designing microbial strains and enzymes to produce sustainable alternatives to petrochemical, plant, and animal-derived products, including biofuels, industrial dyes, and fragrances.
The company’s core technology is its Bio-ARC platform, which integrates strain engineering, enzyme optimization, and fermentation process design to move products from lab to commercial scale. Its primary commercial product is EN3ZYME, a cellulosic enzyme cocktail for 2G ethanol production. Other products include Bio-hexenol and a recombinant DNase I developed with partner Dyadic International.
Fermbox utilizes an asset-light model, partnering with contract manufacturers and anchor customers for large-scale production, such as its joint venture with Thailand-based BBGI. The company is backed by investors including Speciale Invest and 3one4 Capital. As of March 2026, the company remains active, reporting revenue between INR 10 Cr and 50 Cr for FY25.
