Camson Bio Technologies Limited is an India-based agricultural biotechnology company focused on “zero residue” agri-inputs, using microbes’ metabolites to control/inhibit pathogens (biopesticides/biocides) and improve soil/plant nutrition (biofertilizers), plus biotech/hybrid vegetable seeds. Core technology includes intragenics & metagenomics and microorganism/biocides, bio-fertilizers, and hybrid seed germplasm/screening platforms. Founded/commenced commercial production: 1993; HQ: Bangalore, Karnataka (registered/corporate office at C-7, 7th Floor, Golden Enclave, Old Airport Road, Bangalore). It is a listed public company on BSE (symbol CAMS.BO); it is under liquidation. Foreign investor: Bio Harvest Pte Ltd acquired 19.57% in the past; private equity: CLSA Capital Partners invested in May 2013. Revenue known: Rs. 10.35 Cr in FY2016-17; Rs. 8.18 Cr reported for FY2019 (ended Mar 31, 2019). Scale: previously reported ~300 employees (2011), and “over 6 lakh farmers” using its biocides with 8,000–9,000 touchpoints/distributors (2014).
